Police have revealed they have been conducting a homicide investigation into the death of a Christchurch man who died in 2009, but are giving few details.
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Murton says the investigation was launched in May this year following a coroner's hearing into the death of Philip Nisbet.
At the inquest, the coroner found that there was insufficient evidence to confirm the 47-year-old's death as suicide.
Mr Murton says a team of detectives is working on the investigation, which is building on several months of inquiries conducted by police at the time of Mr Nisbet's death.
