The new chief executive of the Ministry of Social Development is to be Internal Affairs chief executive Brendan Boyle.
He will start a five-year term at MSD in October, replacing Peter Hughes, whose contract expires next month.
Mr Boyle has 28 years experience in the public service.
He led the Auckland governance reforms, as well as the integration of the National Library of New Zealand and Archives New Zealand into the Department of Internal Affairs and Land Information New Zealand's Landonline project.
