A 28-year-old man has died in a crash in Palmerston North.
The police say it appears the man's car crossed the centre line and collided with a van travelling in the opposite direction on Aokautere Drive, near the intersection with Cashmere Drive, at about 1.15am on Saturday.
Fire crews cut the man free from the wreckage but he died at the scene.
The driver of the other car suffered a broken foot and has since been discharged from hospital.
Police say alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor in the crash.
