A convicted killer's bid to prosecute 14 people who gave evidence at his trial for perjury has come to an end in the Wellington District Court.
Stephen Hudson was jailed for 16 years for the murder of Palmerston North drug dealer Nicholas Pike, who disappeared in 2002. Hudson to maintain his innocence.
By Monday, all but one of the prosecutions had been stayed and, after hearing from Hudson, Judge Tony Adeane, threw out his application to have witnesses give oral evidence and halted the final prosecution.
Judge Adeane said the issues raised by Hudson had already been traversed without success in both the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Hudson, who was representing himself, left the Court, saying "so this is justice in New Zealand'.
