NZer missing after Norway shooting

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade says a dual New Zealand/Norwegian national is unaccounted for following the shooting attck on Utoeya island in Norway.

The Ministry says the New Zealander was thought to be on the island at the time of the attack.

The New Zealand embassy in The Hague, which is accredited to Norway, is in direct contact with the New Zealander's next of kin in Norway.

The Norwegian authorities are still working to locate all those thought to be on the island at the time of the attack.

Sixty one New Zealanders are registered as being in Norway.

MFAT is advising them to exercise a high degree of security awareness and follow any instructions from the authorities.
