The Council of Trade Unions says it is time for the Employers and Manufacturers Association to say what it is going to do about the gender pay gap.
The fate of the association's chief executive, Alisdair Thompson, hangs in the balance after he said last week that women earn less than men because they take time off due to their periods.
CTU president Helen Kelly told Morning Report on Wednesday the association is entitled to take its time in dealing with Mr Thompson.
But she Ms Kelly says it can really show what its values are by taking some action on the pay issue.
