Cold weather has bought snow to several high altitude areas overnight on Tuesday, the MetService says.
There was a light dusting of snow on the Desert Road on State Highway 1 in the North Island and at Porters Pass on State Highway 73 in the South Island.
There was also falls at Mount Cook, Snowden and Molesworth.
The Transport Agency says vehicle restrictions are in place on State Highway 73 between Springfield and the Arthur's Pass due to snow.
