A trail bike rider in the Bay of Plenty has spinal injuries after an accident during a trail riding event.
The 35-year-old man was participating in an event in the forest between Taupo and Taharua when his motorbike hit a fallen log and he was thrown over the handlebars.
Paramedics believe the man has suffered some internal injuries as well as spinal injuries.
He was flown to Waikato Hospital for treatment.
