A recently vacated former Mongrel Mob headquarters in Invercargill has been badly damaged in a fire.
The fire service was called to the empty premises in Clifton at 12.40am on Thursday to find the building well alight.
Police say most of the gang members moved out about several weeks ago and the building's owner had reclaimed it.
They say the fire is likely to be arson. The building will probably have to be demolished.
Owner Louis Crimp says the building is not insured.
