A 62-year-old woman has been charged over the death of a cyclist in Wellington.
Benjamin Lawless was killed when his bike and a car, which police say was driven by Yvonne van Roy collided in the suburb of Karori in January this year.
Mr Lawless, 22, was due to start a new job within days of his death.
On the night of the crash, he was cycling home after cooking a roast dinner for his sister to celebrate her birthday.
Van Roy, an Associate Accounting Professor from Victoria University, is charged with careless driving causing his death.
She appeared before a Wellington District Court registrar on Monday and was remanded to reappear in court next month.
