Wellington police hope a baseball cap will help identify who stabbed a taxi driver.
The 60-year-old driver was stabbed in the chest and abdomen - but not seriously injured - by a passenger he picked up in Kilbirnie last weekend.
Police say the man left a New-Era-style blue baseball cap in the taxi.
The offender is described as a short Maori or Pacific Islander, aged in his 20s and of thin build. He was wearing a blue or black jacket , white shoes and dark trousers - possibly jeans.
