Public submissions are about to close on a stretch of the planned multi-million dollar four lane lane Kapiti expressway north of Wellington.
The Transport Agency has proposed that the Peka Peka to Otaki route will largely follow the existing State Highway One on the eastern side, with two interchanges and an overbridge in Otaki.
The road will also cut straight through Te Horo, a small town between Otaki and Peka Peka.
The Transport Agency says there will be more consultation later this year once designs are refined.
That consultation will include talks with people whose land will be needed to make way for the route, later this year once designs are refined.
Submissions close on Friday.
