12:46 pm on 4 March 2011

A fallen tree in the Hutt Valley is causing significant delays for railway passengers.

KiwiRail says the tree fell on signal cables at Naenae, forcing all trains on the Upper Hutt and Masterton lines to travel slowly.

Some services are being replaced by buses.

KiwiRail says it will several hours to fix the fault.
