A man has been taken to hospital in critical condition following an explosion at a Turangi house.
The 30-year-old was taken to Taupo Hospital and subsequently flown to Waikato Hospital for treatment.
The Fire Service says it received calls from neighbours at about 7.20pm on Saturday.
A spokesperson says the man suffered severe burns and was doused in water at a neighbour's property before emergency services arrived at the scene.
The Fire Service says the cause of the explosion is unknown but is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
Both the Fire Service and police are investigating the blast.
