A rescue helicopter has reached an injured fisherman trapped on a cliff face on the east coast of the North Island.
The man and a companion were climbing a cliff face at Whareongaonga between Gisborne and Mahia when he slipped and dislocated his shoulder.
An alarm was raised around 9pm on Monday by cellphone.
The Eastland Community Trust rescue helicopter was able to lower a net, into which the injured man was able to climb.
