A crash closed State Highway 29 over the Kaimai Ranges in the Bay of Plenty on Tuesday morning.
Two trucks collided in the Lower Kaimais but no one was seriously injured, police say.
Diversions were in place, and the suggested alternative routes were through Rotorua or Waihi.
The highway was expected to remain closed until 3pm.
