Girl Guides vow no repeat of biscuit fiasco

10:36 am on 6 December 2010

The Girl Guides organisation has vowed to make next year's biscuits the best yet, following complaints about this year's batch.

In March, many customers complained the biscuits were dry and tasted like cardboard, prompting speculation the organisation had changed the recipe.

Girl Guides chief executive Ruth Teasdale says nothing was changed, and it was a problem in the manufacturing process that led to a variation in the biscuits' appearance.

Ms Teasdale says that she and the national president will be signing off on the recipe next week, and the organisation will provide a try-before-you-buy offer on the biscuits.
