Waikato police have named one of the victims of Wednesday's double fatality accident near Otorohanga.
A Toyota Rav 4 vehicle collided with a truck on Otewa Rd south-west of the town, killing Otorohanga man Malcolm John Frew, 57.
A 17-year old male student from Waitomo who was a passenger in Mr Frew's truck also died.
The 15-year old female driver of the Rav and two passengers suffered serious injuries.
Police say it appears the driver of the Toyota, who was on a restricted licence, failed to take a corner and lost control of her car, colliding with Mr Frew's truck.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
