A private funeral has been held on Wednesday for Auckland woman Carmen Thomas.
The 32-year-old was last seen at the end of June and her dismembered body was discovered buried in the Waitakere Ranges in September.
Her former partner and the father of her five-year-old son, Bradford Callaghan, has been charged with her murder.
Ms Thomas's friends and family, including her mother who lives in South Africa, attended the service at the Greenlane Christian Centre.
Mr Callaghan appeared in the Auckland District Court on Tuesday via a videolink from prison and was remanded in custody until February next year.
