State Highway 75 has re-opened after a serious crash blocked Christchurch Akaroa Road on Canterbury's Banks Peninsula earlier Saturday afternoon.
Police closed the highway between Summit Road and Long Bay Road, while emergency services attended the scene of the incident.
Police had asked people to avoid the area and traffic was detoured, while the closure was in place, but the road was now accessible again.
