One person has died after a two-vehicle crash that has State Highway 3 near Hamilton.
Police and other emergency services were called to the crash, near the Narrows Road intersection, at 1.20pm.
They said one person was found dead at the scene.
Two other people were taken to hospital in a critical and serious condition.
The road remains closed, with diversions in place, while the Serious Crash Unit complete a scene examination.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and expect delays.
