Paid firefighters have issued a new strike notice for a one-hour stoppage from noon on 14 November.

They also already have a similar one-hour strike notice in place for next Friday.

However, a one-hour strike scheduled to take place tomorrow was earlier dropped.

The Professional Firefighters' Union and Fire and Emergency are due to head back into talks next Monday for three days.

"The strike notices are necessary to keep the pressure on FENZ to come to the table with a revised offer that makes sufficient progress on the issues raised through bargaining," the union said.

Members are in a long-running dispute over pay and staffing. They walked off the job for an hour on 17 October.

FENZ said its goal was to reach a fair, sustainable, and reasonable settlement.

"We remain committed to tabling an offer and will continue to bargain in good faith and do everything we can to achieve an agreement without the services communities rely on being disrupted," a spokesperson said on Thursday afternoon.
