The trial of a man accused of slavery heard allegations he made a woman take out a large bank loan and kept it all.

Aucklander Moeaia Tuai, 63, has pleaded not guilty to keeping two young people as slaves.

He also denies raping one of them, indecent assaults, sexual violations by unlawful connection and assaults.

A complainant told Auckland High Court that Tuai created an email address in her name to message her employer and access her payslips.

She said he took her to the ASB, where she took out a loan for his father's funeral.

She alleged he took her bank card and withdrew her money without permission.

Earlier, the jury saw CCTV footage of Tuai withdrawing money from the ATM.

Under cross-examination by defence lawyer Tua Saseve, she denied that Tuai had been showing her how to use her bank card.

The prosecution alleges he took at least $78,000 of her money and withdrew the last $800 in her account when she ran away.

The woman said she made a false complaint to police against another man, fearing she would be given a "hiding", if she did not do what Tuai demanded.

The trial continues.
