A group of trampers in Raglan, west of Hamilton, have been rescued after becoming disorientated in the bush.

The group had called the police for help, and were walked out by Land Search and Rescue volunteers around 9.30pm on Saturday.

They called for help shortly after 6pm.

A spokesperson said a volunteer rescue team was on its way to find the trampers and walk them out. Police had also been in phone contact with the group and said they seemed to all be in good health

It was not immediately clear where in Raglan the group had been tramping.
