A section of State Highway 1 in North Canterbury has reopened after a vehicle crash south of Cheviot.
Road users should still expect delays and are urged to drive with care through the area.
Emergency services were called out to the crash that blocked State Highway 1 at Domett just after 10am on Wednesday.
St John said one person was being flown to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
