Porirua police say they are seeking information on a group of illegal dirt bike riders who have been terrifying livestock and damaging newly planted native trees.

Police said the group of five males regularly rode dirt bikes from Waitangirua or Cannons Creek, across iwi land, into Belmont Park and then Belmont Farm.

"Their behaviour on the bikes is endangering the public, including families using the park, road users and workers in the park," police said.

"They are also terrifying livestock, including sheep that are currently lambing."

Police asked people quote file number 250718/6415.
