A teenager has been referred to Youth Aid after laptops were taken in a break-in at an Auckland school, and a police helicopter and dog team tracked suspects.
Alarms went off at Blockhouse Bay Intermediate on Sunday night.
Two people were spotted from the Eagle helicopter making a getaway and jumping over fences, a police spokesperson said.
A dog team managed to track the scent of one person - a 17-year-old who was found with a bag with three laptops.
The computers have been returned to the school, the spokesperson said.
Police were still working to identify the second person.
