A man will appear in court after interfering with a firetruck in West Auckland on Friday night.

Fire and Emergency said no trucks were damaged and there were no injuries in the incident.

Police were called to Hobsonville Road at 7.30pm.

A police spokesperson said the suspect fled the scene on foot, but was arrested a short time later.

A 28-year-old man will appear in Waitakere District Court next week in relation to the matter.
