A man accused of murdering an elderly woman in south Auckland last month has pleaded not guilty.
The 50-year-old is charged with murdering 84-year-old Joan Beale in her Papatoetoe home on 9 August.
He appeared at the High Court in Auckland on Wednesday to enter a not guilty plea and set a date for his trial.
His trial was set for three weeks and will begin on 28 September, 2026.
The man was granted interim name suppression and remanded in custody.
