Three people in police custody after stabbing in West Auckland

Three people are in custody after a person was found seriously injured with stab wounds in West Auckland on Monday night.

Emergency services responded to a report of an assault and stabbing at about 8.10pm, which was said to have occurred at a property in Breenagh Place in Massey.

Waitemata Crime Squad Detective Senior Sergeant Megan Goldie said a person was found with serious injuries in Glendene.

"Police found the victim had injuries consistent with stab wounds as well as a number of other injuries, and they were transported to hospital in a serious condition," she said.

Police were working with the victim to understand what happened.
