State Highway 25 is closed between Whangamatā and Whiritoa due to a fatal crash, NZTA says.
Police were called to a single-vehicle crash on Waihi Whangamatā Road in Waikato about 11.40am on Monday.
Police said the vehicle's driver died at the scene.
NZTA asked motorists to delay their journey or to use an alternative route.
