The family of missing Whangārei man Zealand Watene say it's unusual they haven't heard from him in weeks
Watene, 34, was last seen around 13 August, and was reported missing this week.
"It is unusual for Zealand not to stay connected with family and police are concerned for his welfare," Senior Sergeant Steve Dickson said.
"He could be anywhere in the Whangārei area or further afield in the Northland region."
Anybody who has seen Watene or knows where he is is urged to contact police by calling 105.
