Supplies to make a pipe bomb have been seized by police in Wellington along with guns, cash and drugs.

Operation Trunk, a three month police investigation, was used to disrupt a significant supply of methamphetamine in the Hutt Valley, police said.

The investigation was led by the National Organised Crime Group with support from Wellington police and other specialist groups.

The items seized included four guns, 3D printed gun parts, a credit card skimmer, approximately $300,000 cash, a money counter and two kilograms of methamphetamine.

Along with two vehicles, including a motorbike, valued at more than $100,000.

Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said police carried out a series of search warrants at commercial and residential properties in recent weeks.

"Of real concern is the discovery of three kilograms of substances and casings capable of being transformed into pipe bombs.

"This is highly concerning to police, and we continue to investigate the source of the substances."

As a reult, a 44-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were charged with a variety of offences including possession of methamphetamine for supply and possession of ammunition.

The man was also charged with importing methamphetamine and possession of a firearm.

Both were remanded in custody.

The man was set to reappear in Hutt Valley District Court on September 4 and the woman on November 20.

Police were still examining items found during the searches, which they said could lead to further charges.
