The cause of death of a baby found in Auckland's Albert Park over the weekend remains unknown, say police.
The newborn's body was found on Sunday morning by a park worker.
A 37-year-old woman appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday, charged with concealing the body.
The woman has name suppression and was remanded in custody.
In a statement, Detective Inspector Scott Beard said police were still awaiting final pathology results in a "very tragic" case.
He said establishing the cause of death required very detailed work and it was expected to take some time to complete.
