Accused in Albert Park baby case surrenders passport

A woman charged after a newborn baby was found dead in Auckland's Albert Park over the weekend has appeared in court.

The 37-year-old, who has been granted interim name suppression, has been charged with concealing a dead body.

The charge document seen by RNZ stated the alleged offence took place on Saturday.

The woman appeared at the Auckland District Court via video link on Monday afternoon.

Judge Belinda Sellars asked the woman to surrender her passport to police.

She was remanded on bail until her next court appearance on Wednesday.
