Autopsy of woman found dead in apartment block in Auckland's Parnell 'inconclusive'

The post-mortem of a woman found dead in an Auckland apartment block last week is "inconclusive", police say.

She's been named on Monday as Leiann Rae Davis.

The 59-year-old was found unresponsive by emergency services at an apartment block on Cracroft St, Parnell on Thursday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend, said her death was still under investigation and remained unexplained.

They were waiting for detailed pathology results.

A funeral was held at the weekend.

A spokesperson for Kainga Ora, who own the apartment block, said their thoughts were with friends and whānau of Davis.

"While this death is under police investigation, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further."

They directed any questions to police.
