Police ask public for help in finding Haami Hanara, who had murder conviction quashed as a teen

Police are asking the public for help to find 21-year-old Haami Hanara, who was only 14 when he was sentenced to life for the murder of homeless man Kelly Donner.

Hanara appealed his conviction in 2022 and later admitted to a manslaughter charge. He was released in 2023.

A police spokesperson said Hanara has a warrant out for arrest and should not be approached.

Hanara is 168cm tall, of medium build and has a cast on his right arm.

Police said they believed he was in Flaxmere, Hastings.

If sighted call 111 immediately, they said.
