Police say a missing Whanganui man was likely in a car when it crashed into a flooded river.
They continue to search for 20-year-old Kahu Gill who was last seen on Friday, 27 June.
A car matching the description of Gill's vehicle was found in Whanganui River on 2 July.
It is believed he was in the car when it went into the river and was swept away in floodwaters, a spokesperson said.
An aerial search is planned for Saturday.
The public is being asked to report any clothing - a black hoody with red text on the sleeves, and camo cargo pants - found near the river or coastline.
The car has now been removed from the river.
