One person has died in a Waihi house fire Friday morning.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand's northern shift manager said they were called to a fire on Montrose Road, Waihi at 7.52am.
Four fire vehicles from both Waihi and Mayor View stations attended, along with St John.
Police and FENZ investigators are carrying out a scene examination.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
