A Wellington man is in a critical condition after a serious assault at a residential address in Lower Hutt.
Police were called to Randwick Road at 8pm on Monday night where a 50-year-old man was found with injuries consistent with him being assaulted.
Police monitored the house overnight and a scene examination will take place on Tuesday.
Police said they were working to identify the circumstances around the assault.
Residents on Randwick Road can expect to see a high Police presence over the next few days.
