Two hunters are facing gun charges after shots were fired near a home in Cheviot in north Canterbury.
Police said they found six rifles and more than 160 rounds of ammunition in a search of a nearby property on 29 March.
A 19-year-old man will appear in the Christchurch District court 29 April, while an 18-year-old man will appear on 16 May.
Sergeant Rob Irvine said the rural community were concerned by the amount of poaching and were actively working with police to report any illegal activity or suspicious activity.
