The Commerce Commission reminds people who sell cars on TradeMe to be aware of their legal obligations.
The commission says anyone who sells more than six cars in 12 months is deemed to be a motor vehicle trader and must provide a consumer information notice with each used car put up for sale.
The commission says the notice helps buyers obtain key information, such as its ownership history.
It must be up to date and the information fair and accurate.
