Power has most been restored in the Browns Bay area of the the North Shore after a transformer fault on Friday morning.
Vector says a fault at about 8.30am effected power supply to 1000 houses in about 30 streets.
It says power was restored to all but 68 business premises shortly after 9am. Generators are being installed for temporary power.
