Another Wairoa dairy held up: three get away

3:01 pm on 23 June 2010

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Wairoa dairy, four days after another dairy was held up.

The Mahia Avenue Dairy was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday night by three people, one of whom was carrying a rifle.

Police say the trio walked into the shop at about 6.50pm, bailed up shop staff and rifled the till before running down Freyberg St and Macdonald St to a getaway car.

They say the shop staff were shaken up but unhurt.

Another dairy in the town was held up at knifepoint last Friday but the offender was chased away empty-handed. No arrest has been made in relation to that incident.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the latest hold-up.
