A Hamilton man is facing a raft of charges after police officers were assaulted during a domestic violence incident.
A worker from Women's Refuge called police to a house in Fairfield on Saturday after realising the occupant's estranged partner was in the house with its client.
Officers arrested the man for breaching a restraining order but he jumped out a window.
He was confronted by female officer, whom he is accused of assaulting. The officer suffered a head injury.
Police say reinforcements were called and pepper spray was used to subdue the man. He then kicked out the window of a patrol car.
The man's teenage son and daughter, who tried to help their father, were arrested for obstruction.
