A man has died after falling off a motorised skateboard in Havelock, north of Blenheim.
The 41-year-old was skating down a hill on Mahakipawa Road a short distance from his home about 8pm on Wednesday when he lost control, hitting the back of his head on concrete.
Police say a passing motorist stopped to help the man, but could find no pulse.
Emergency services also tried unsuccessfully to revive him.
