A Hawke's Bay Flaxmere pensioner who woke to find 17 windows in his house had been smashed, says he was not frightened.
Barney Huriwaka, 80, of Flaxmere woke to the sound of glass shattering in his bedroom at about 3am on Sunday.
Police say they're disgusted at such a cowardly act.
Mr Huriwaka believes he scared the person away when he woke up.
He told Summer Report he's been given the name of a suspect, which he will forward to the police.
