Traffic is being diverted in Palmerston North after a car hit a bridge on Pioneer Highway.
The incident occurred just before 5am on Saturday, with the vehicle ending up in the water.
Police say three people were in the vehicle: one had to be cut from the car in order to escape.
All traffic is being diverted from the highway into Longburn Rongotea Road, then into No. 1 line, before returning to Pioneer Highway from Amberley Ave.
