One person died after a two vehicle crash on State Highway 26 north of Te Araroa on Thursday morning.
Emergency services attended the crash at about 7.45am.
One person died at the scene and another was taken to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The Serious Crash Unit is conducting a scene examination and the road remains closed with cordons in place on both sides of Rawhiti Road and Station Road.
