Auckland Transport is "confident" its public transport services will get people to three big events this weekend, after huge demand on services from major events put a strain on the network earlier this month.

More than 100,000 fans were drawn to Eden Park for the concert, which led to strain on both train and bus services.

A number of large events including Polyfest, the Auckland Arts Festival and a Blues vs Crusaders game are taking place over the weekend.

While no extra services were set to run, AT public transport operations manager Rachel Cara said there were no planned outages until Sunday night when some late night trains would be replaced with buses.

"That planned outage won't impact any of the events taking place," Cara said.

The Blues vs Crusaders game will take place at Eden Park on Saturday.

Cara said travel on buses and trains was included in tickets.

More train services to and from Eden Park could be added if needed, she said.

"Eden Park is well connected with frequent public transport - we're confident we can get people where they need to be and back home."

AT encouraged people to use public transport to go to events if they could.

Cara said Aucklanders should plan their travel in advance by using AT's app or website.
